SAT test dates for 2026–27

College Board publishes one schedule for everyone. Its dates page states that the 2026–27 SAT Weekend dates and deadlines "apply to all students—U.S. and international." There is no U.S.-only date this year, so the March 6, 2027 test is open to international test takers as well.

The third column is the last day for three things: registering late (with a fee), changing your registration and canceling at the regular cancellation fee. After that, you can still cancel until the Thursday before test day, at a higher fee. See SAT fees for the amounts.
If you need College Board to lend you a testing device, you must register and request the device at least 30 days before test day, which is earlier than the normal registration deadline.
When SAT scores come out
College Board says most weekend scores are released 2–4 weeks after test day. For 2026–27 the student release dates fall about two weeks after each test, except June 5, 2027, whose scores arrive June 21. Colleges you chose as free score recipients receive scores after release, and processing times vary by college.
If you are working back from an application deadline, count on the release date in the table, not the test date. A November 1 early deadline, for example, cannot be met with a score from the November 7 test. For what the numbers mean once they arrive, read SAT scores.
How to register for the SAT
Registration is online and takes about 30 minutes, according to College Board. You can start, save and finish later. You must register yourself; a parent or counselor cannot do it for you.
- Create or sign in to your College Board account
Use your full legal name exactly as it appears on the photo ID you will bring on test day. A nickname on the admission ticket and a full name on the ID will get you turned away.
- Pick a test date
Choose from the table above. College Board notes that most students test first in spring of junior year and again in fall of senior year.
- Choose a test center
Search centers during registration and look at several. Not every center has open seats, and you will see availability as you go.
- Upload your photo
The photo must show your full face, head-on, with nothing altered. Staff compare it with your ID on test day, and a photo that does not meet the requirements means you will not be allowed to test. A successful upload only confirms the file type and size.
- Pay and add free score recipients
Pay the registration fee plus any international or center fees. You can name up to four colleges or scholarship programs to receive your scores free, and change them until nine days after the test.
- Set up Bluebook
Download Bluebook on your testing device at least 30 days ahead, then complete exam setup 1–5 days before the test to get your admission ticket. The full checklist is on our SAT test day page.
International test centers
Outside the United States, the SAT is given at schools and testing organizations that host it on the same weekend dates. You register through the same College Board site, and you pay a $43 international fee on top of the $68 registration fee. A small number of centers, mostly in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, add a $24 test center fee.
Use the College Board test center search to see which centers near you offer a given date. Centers do not test on every date and seats run out, so check two or three options before the deadline. If you travel to another country to test, College Board requires a valid passport as your ID.
- Some locations have their own rules. In Hong Kong, College Board asks students not to contact the test center and points to the HKEAA website instead.
- Sunday testing exists only for students who cannot test on Saturday for religious reasons, by request with a letter from a religious leader. It is not available in India or Pakistan.
- College Board cannot accept registrations from persons subject to U.S. sanctions.
- In the days before the test, check the Bluebook home screen, your email, My SAT and the test center closings page in case your center changes or closes.
SAT School Day
SAT School Day is given at participating schools during the week, and you do not register for it yourself; the school or district handles it. The 2026–27 windows are October 1–30, 2026 and March 1–April 30, 2027. If your school does not offer it, the weekend dates above are your options.
Registration tips
- Register before the regular deadline. Late registration is available worldwide but costs an extra $38.
- Plan two dates. Most students take the SAT more than once. Leave room for a second sitting before your earliest application deadline, and remember scores arrive about two weeks after the test.
- Check your ID now. The name on your account must match your photo ID exactly. If it does not, contact SAT support well before test day.
- Keep your deadlines in Eastern Time. Every deadline ends at 11:59 p.m. ET, which is already the next day across Asia.
- Test your device early. Personal Chromebooks, phones and Linux devices cannot run Bluebook. Finding that out the week before the test leaves little room to fix it.
To pick a date, start from where you are now. A full-length timed test on our practice platform gives you a score estimate, and our SAT study plans cover different starting points. Solo Prep teaches live one-on-one and small-group classes on Zoom for students in any time zone; email support@satsoloprep.com if you want help building a plan around a test date.
